DAQRI-Siemens Case Study: Benefits of Using Augmented Reality to Gas Burner Assembly Training

AN AR GAS BURNER ASSEMBLY APP TO INCREASE TRAINING EFFICIENCY, SPEED, AND CONFIDENCE, AS WELL AS REDUCE ASSEMBLY ERRORS

Siemens explored a new approach to increase training efficiency, partnering with DAQRI to build an augmented reality (AR) gas burner assembly training App.

DAQRI conducted a proof-of-concept study with Siemens to better understand how AR-based training affects assembly efficiency for different personas, and how different personas assess AR App usability. This study was conducted in realistic conditions at the Siemens Power Service Training Center in Berlin, Germany. Four participants completed an assembly using the AR App. Two had never completed an assembly before (“Novices”); one had completed an assembly over one year ago (“Refresher”), and one was a trainer (“Expert”).
